If you plan to print larger than 11x14 (roughly), or if you want more cropping flexibility, the D80 is a clear choice. Otherwise, between the D50 and D70, the D70 has a few more options (check DPreview for feature lists) that may or may not matter to you. It also takes CompactFlash, so if you have any aspirations of moving up to a D200 or D2x-like camera in the future, the D70 will get you started with the right type of memory. If being limited to SD media doesn't bother you, then get the D50 and spend the money you saved on better lenses.

my wife H4 was denied since it was applied after 2 months of I 94 expiration (july 1,2010)but we also sent the I 94 correction based on my H1B notice untill March 10,2011 since there was mistake at POE in jan 2010. On March 18 we received I 94 correction until March 10,2011. Hence now actual out of status is from march 10,2011. So we decided for her to go to India for stamping. But we also filed for MTR still my attorney adviced us to go to India for stamping since we don't want to cross the 180 day period.

I don't know what amt was enclosed with the application. All I know it is rejected b'couse of Incorrect/No Fee. My concern is it was rejected on Sep 22nd & lawyer might have got the notice of rejection & he missed it or don't know what happened. It is already more than a month now. How much time is there to resend the application.

If you look at the new features list:
A customer-centric home page that provides applicants with a �one-stop shop� of immigration services information.
Simplified navigation and improved search capability.
Enhanced customer service tools including expanded Case Status Online with both email and text functionality.
Information that is written clearly and meets the needs of our customers.
It is pretty vague. They may just make some cosmetic changes for the existing website. I dont see anything new here. I hope they prove me wrong!

The whole non-compete agreement is a cruel joke on the employee who finds his own project. All these incapable bad desi employers ban the employee from joining the client whom the employee got them in the first place.
I know a friend of mine works for an employer, he found his own project through a vendor, now because of non-compete agreement he cannot join the client, nor the vendor and now the employer and vendors are buddies and thinking of other business opportunities. In all this the employee is the loser while it was he who brought the employer and vendor together into minting more money at his expense.
This is especially true of smaller companies. Big companies at least have real end clients and find projects. With smaller companies, employee finds projects, helps build client list for his company, gets paid less than market rate, etc.
If the GC process were smoother, a lot of such employers would shut down. Their business model is helped by the immigration mess....

IV in good faith shared there plan about 485 provision with everybody. And it backfired spectacularly, though for no fault of IV. There were (and still are) a lot of bad apples who made a lot of noise not just here but also went on to other sites to carry there agenda. There agenda is to oppose 485. I am not against idea of opposite point of view but look at the extent these people went to push there agenda. They are calling IV all sorts of names and casting aspirations on IV team.
I personally support the filing of 485 provision. But whatever decision IV has about 485 issues may be it is better of that they not disclose it. Hind sight is 20-20 but it might have been better if IV pushed this idea without informing everybody.
I am not second guessing or doing Monday night quarterbacking but just saying with the lessons learned going forward not to disclose information. Democracy does not mean leadership has to run by each decision or explain each decision to everybody. IV is stuck between the devil and deep sea. Damned if the disclose damned if they do not disclose. Bottom line of what I am trying to say is we should get used to information blackouts. We are not getting any information but the important thing is our opposition is also not getting information about IV plans. It might be better that way. Now the difficult part is explaining that to people who want updates.

I need your input.
My PD was Feb 2006-EB2.
I changed job on June 22nd to another company using EAD. Now the PD has become current for Aug.My old company and the new company are in different cities but it is the same state.
I was planning to apply for AC-21 but i have not gotten consistent pay checks yet. My first check was a partial check. I will have 2 consistent paychecks by Aug 15th.
1) Is it safe to just wait and see if i get a 485 approval without alerting USCIS about my job change?
I am thinking since the job change is very recent they might not know about this job change.
2) If they denied my 485 application for any reason ,can i continue to work while i apply for "reconsidering my 485 application" and file AC-21 with the new company?
Please advice what you think about this. Basically i am trying to "not rock the boat" and raise suspicion and more RFEs by notifying them about this very recent change.

As long as you have a job/future valid job in hand, you don't have to worry. If you have changed your residence, just change your address and face reality. Most petitions are preadjudicated - which means that the adjudicator - when processing your application was convinced that you have a valid job. Now, unless something drastically changes (which is rare) you don't need to do anything.
Don't get stressed over RFE. RFE is nothing to worry about. I think you should be more worried about your employer who is not paying you properly. You need to report such employers.
Even if you get a RFE, it has nothing to do with pay checks. Pay checks is a arrangement between you and your employer and USCIS has nothing to do with your pay checks.
People have moved coast to coast and changed addresses and not received any RFEs, so just chill and be happy that your PD is current.

Exactly my point. I could not read those numbers correctly and got a shocker until I received the receipts in the mail.
My cheques got encashed last week ...I have the receipt numbers from the back of the chq...have not yet received the physical receipt notices yet...

If i am not mistaken We are looking at a legislation which will atleast renew them for few more months....So just as a word of caution it is too early for any assumption that EB4 Religious workers and EB5 is going to completely expire........ Wait 2 more weeks and we will know...

All we know ...there is bound to be delays...ther e will always be a few lucky ones getting receipts and stuff in a months time....but most of us like the GC process itself will be backlogged again....for receipts now....

We will be continuing to build our community strong on models of successful organizations like AAPI, AAA, AARP ...... where people get a sense of community.
Very often our community (immigrant) seems to always have divided opinions and views and such things keep us away from being one strong community. When we reach new shores, we must keep everything aside -
"lets all forget that they are Indian we are Chinese" ,
"lets forget that they are Tamil we are Hindi",
lets forget that "they are Reddy and we are Khamma"
- lets look at what binds us together?
As Skilled workers what do we have in common? Our community is intelligent, hard working, honest and contribute. We are entitled for fair processes. is it Individual entitlement? is it collective?
What can bind us? A common goal and a common drive and common wisdom.
Our efforts this year and moving forward will be towards buliding trust, community, working towards small successes, workingh towards community help and for that we need all your cooperation and help. We need everyone to join hands. Lets all join hands for one IV - One Voice
