You do realize it's easy for me to prove malice on your braking? Your previous behavior just shows clear evidence. At those high speeds if she would have hit you would have flown out your window or left with a really bad bruise from seatbelt. Eiher way at that point, I could ask that you be subject to a lie detector due to gravity of the possible incident.

You're lie detector statement is total BS. Lie detectors are not admissible in a court of law; also a court can not compel someone to take a polygraph. My previous history would be easily disputed. There were no witnesses present (besides my mother) when I was highbeaming her and laying on my horn. There were however cars present when she brakechecked me. There was one car present when I brakechecked her, but not when I cut her off. The simple fact is that I plan these things out in order to reduce my legal exposure, and increase the other person's legal exposure, in case there were to be an accident/law suit.

Looks like the iPods are still at 5G with some tweaks, which is weird considering they had a whole year. .
That is the common sense reaction. You're seeing mac zealots here trying to trumpet how great these new iPods are.
Updating a 4:3 screen with another 4:3 screen and claiming it's improved is like Yugo rereleasing their car and claiming it's improved because the gas cap is a different color. It's still a Yugo.

Is their a benefit to the Imac, over just buying a Macbook Pro with a nice big widescreen monitor for a couple hundred bucks?
Add in Thunderbolt's supposed endless expansion capabilities using adaptors, and is seems like the way to go for the most flexibility, and you could use it as a makeshift desktop, couldn't you?
I ask, because i must upgrade very soon for a job (early April), and I use my system for video editing.
I'm not terribly current on the speed tests comparisons, but I've used a standard Macbook for FCP and the only hit was the rendering on something like making DVD's. For me, the screen real estate, and a machine that will upgrade to Lion, and FCP 4 without choking is key.

Apple announced the Intel iMac and MBP like 5-7 days after Yonah was brought out at the begining of Jan. It'll be announced tomorrow (75%) or next Tuesday (25%), but no later than that.

This is precisely why other companies' attempts to "bring the PC into the living room" have failed (and will continue to do so). Think of the logistics of this (if you will) from an interior design perspective. Are you going to put your media center PC on a TV stand in your living room across from the couch to watch movies/TV? Are you also going to have a desk chair sitting right in front of it for those times you'd like more PC than TV? People (families) do not use computers in their living room and they do not watch movies/TV sitting at a desk.
This is why iTV is brilliant. Living rooms are for content, not computing. Content is the only aspect of your computer that is necessary in the living room, and it is all iTV delivers.

Agreed. In a few years - after some software updates, firmware revisions, and motherboard replacements - I also expect TBolt to be a normal (although perhaps expensive) way to connect peripherals.
TBolt on the current Apples (laptops/all-in-ones) is an interesting thing if you don't need it. If you need it to work out-of-the-box - perhaps you should have a backup strategy in place.
Apple couldn't even release laptops that worked right with their current display lineup - (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1114280) - and you expect a brand new bleeding edge hot-plug PCIe interconnect to work when it can't possibly have been tested with off-the-shelf peripherals? (iono how serious you were) Unlike the stupid G5 PB rumors, the fact that cellphone chips, etc. can fit into something as thin as a RAZR and couple that with how thin a nano is, it's going to happen sooner than you'd think.

Surely I'm not the only one who's noticed that the i7 is slower than the i5, and that the Radeon HD 6970M is slower than the 6750M.

Still rockin' the 2008 24" Core2 Duo 3.06 Ghz iMac. Best Mac I've ever owned. Next Mac will be whatever the largest screen they make and fastest chip they have whenever this one dies. 100% sold on the iMac.

They are couching this as a fight against drunk driving, but Trapster primarily is about alerting you to speed traps, red light cameras and other purely revenue generating tools used by local cops and insurance companies to take your money from you using the fig leaf of allegedly improving traffic safety.

If they ban Trapster from the store I solemnly swear that I will make it my life's work to build a web-based replacement that they can't ban.

Well, only because they might have to pay you overtime. If they have to pay you extra or a premium overtime wage, they will try hard to not let you get to that point. Not because they don't want you working too much, but because they don't want to have to pay you for your time.
Opening day is set in stone, so there is no pushing it back. In the end, myself and my assistant had to work seven 20-hour days in a row in order to get everything completed. When I turned in my invoice, with obvious gobs of overtime on it, it was sent back saying "We pay you a day rate. A day is 24 hours. Your rate covers however much you have to work in a day."
Here the public sector tends to offer time off in lieu, rather than paid overtime. The reason he was told to work less was genuinely because of the law. They could get in trouble if he worked too many hours for too long.
That many 20 hour days is quite a feat! I just find it amazing that people can think like that- it is obviously over time! I'm going to start as a lawyer next year and I know there will be long hours, sometimes 20 in one day like you. To do that I will sign an opt-out of the Working Time Regulations (which limit the average hours per week to 48) to get the job done. That is MS Explorer calling the iTunes.exe file an Application. It has nothing to do with Apple. Anything ending in .exe will have the same description.
It's all irrelevant to the conversation though... we are discussing "App Store" not "Application."

Apple Insider was saying the movie price would be $14.99 -I would not pay that much to watch a movie on a small screen... no way, unless I had a hour long commute to work on a train... can't believe there are that many people like that out there!
If that's true for an small format movie, the Itunes Movie store will bomb. There is no way in hell people will pay that money. Is better buy a DVD at your local store.

Yeah man, one of my biggest incentives to put my money on the line and open a small business is that I have the opportunity to pay someone to not work for a year.

Wow. Good news for Apple and the future of the iTS in getting more studios on board. :)
If Apple can just convince studios to release movies in 720p and 1080p formats, it would kill off the blu-ray / HD DVD rivalry once and for all.
